If you haven’t noticed by now, I love coupons – that’s why I started this blog! But, there is one thing I love just as much – getting paid to shop! Just last weekend, I took a trip to my local Walmart with coupons and price match list in tow. I ended up not only getting my items for free, but the cashier paid me 83¢ when all was said and done.
But shopping with coupons and matching them with a really good sale at the store isn’t the only way to “get paid to shop.” If you like shopping online, there are several wonderful programs that offer “cash back” incentives for shopping through them. Rakuten.com (formerly Ebates) is the most popular (you can sign up here and get a FREE $10 gift card after your first $25 purchase)! Ibotta.comis my second fave.
Not only can get get cash back by simply scanning your receipts after you shop, but you’ll also earn cash back by shopping at your favorite online stores through them, too! You can even join my Ibotta team and earn rewards and cash back even faster! Sign Up Here. So, why not just get paid to do what you’re going to do, anyway, right? That’s what I call “smart shopping!”
How it works is actually very simple. You sign up and search for the online retailer you wish to shop at, and the site will redirect you to the merchant you selected and create a “tracking ID” so it knows how much to pay you back. While I always search cash-back sites to see who is offering the most rebates before I shop online, I prefer to do so when retailers are having an awesome sale. Cyber Monday and Free Shipping Day are two of my favorite online shopping days of the year! And, besides, shopping during sales, be sure to sign up for the stores email newsletter because they oftentimes send exclusive coupons to your inbox!
There are some cash back sites that require you to have a minimum amount accumulated before they will send you a check for your check, Paypal deposit, or you can select a gift card. For example, Rakuten requires you to have earned at least $5 (yup, just $5!) before they will send you your earnings. At that point, it’s money back in your wallet, and you can’t beat that!
